N & J's "Flawless Face Week" - Primer, Foundation & Powder

So now that we know what brushes we’re going to use, time to shop makeup(!!!)-starting with primer, foundation and powder (applied in that order):

Primer – When painting a new accent wall in your apartment rental, you can probably skip the primer and use an extra coat of paint. But when it comes to perfect foundation, primer is essential. It’s formulated to fill in all the little lines and pores to give you a smooth base to apply your foundation. It also hydrates and soothes with antioxidants and vitamins..well, Smashbox “Photo Finish Foundation Primer” does- and that’s why I recommend it above all the others. Apply it with the same brush you apply your foundation. $36.00 http://www.sephora.com/

Foundation – I’m serious when I say I’ve tried them ALL over the years. Givenchy, Hourglass, Dior, Benefit etc.…know what happened? I went back to MAC. I don’t know why I ever left. MAC “Studio Fix Fluid” is the best it gets for lightweight full coverage, and it has SPF 15! Immediately your skintone will be even, your face will appear brighter and younger! You’ll be so impressed that you’ll feel like you could just stop right there. Nope! It get’s better.. $26.00, http://www.maccosmetics.com/

Powder- Powder not only sets your foundation, but (depending on the look you’re going for) it can also add color and dimension to your face. Make Up For Ever “HD Microfinish Powder” is finely milled and colorless, so it sets and mattifies without changing the natural contours of the face($30.00, http://www.sephora.com/). MAC “Mineralize SkinFinish Natural” is a skin-tone velvety powder that gives light coverage and adds dimension. If you’re naturally pale, try getting the next shade up to add color to your face- especially around the forehead and cheekbones.($26.00, http://www.maccosmetics.com/)
